About Other
Not every company arrives with a tidy label. Some combine two trades, some serve a niche that has no heading of its own, and some are simply new enough that the usual classifications have not caught up. This section holds those profiles, so they stay visible and easy to find rather than being forced into the wrong place.
Each profile here follows the same company-led format as the rest of the site: what the business does, who it serves and where to find it. Treat the page as a register of unclassified ventures, useful if you are scouting for something unusual or checking what sits outside the standard headings.
The page lists every product and business filed here, and filters help you narrow the set. If a named category describes a listing accurately, it will usually be better placed there. Other is for genuine exceptions, not for avoiding a decision.
Other: questions answered
- What kind of business belongs in Other?
- Businesses whose core offer does not match any named category. Examples include hybrid models, very specialised services or unusual products. If a named category describes your main activity reasonably well, choose that one, because buyers browsing there are more likely to find you.
- How do I list a business under Other?
- Go to /submit and paste your website address. A draft profile is generated from your site, and you review and change each field before publication. Select Other as the main category at that point. A paid launch costs $5, while a free listing waits about 6-8 weeks.
- Can a listing here also appear in other categories?
- Yes. Each listing has one main category, included at no charge. The extra-categories upgrade costs $5 and adds up to 3 more, so an Other listing can also show where a visitor might reasonably expect to find it.
- In what order are the listings shown?
- Newest launches appear first by default. Visitors can instead sort by community votes. Votes cannot be purchased, so a higher position by votes reflects genuine interest from people browsing the site rather than payment.
- What should I check when comparing unclassified businesses?
- Read the company profile for a clear description of the offer, the intended customer and a working website. With no category to guide you, those basics matter most. Compare how specifically each business explains what it does and who it is for.
